Any vehicle that gets its propulsion power from two different power sources is known as a hybrid. A moped is an example of a hybrid; it has a small petrol engine, and pedals. The power comes from two sources, the petrol engine, and the pedal power from the rider. In some cities there are diesel-electric buses. Submarines are nuclear-electric, or diesel-electric. Locomotives are diesel-electric.
In 1769, Brezine invented the first self-powered vehicle. There came many modifications in the mechanism of hybrid cars as time passed. The modern automobiles are meeting the current demands, or requirements of the global world, and they are in tenure of latest technology.
Hybrid cars are basically designed to reduce emissions. Urban areas are filled with air pollution that is severed by congestion, caused due to cars. Hybrid cars have undergone a lot of testing to conform to modern standards of environment adaptability. Over the past few years, they have been designed in a manner keeping in mind consumer compatibility with this new breed of cars.

One or more electric motors are used with these basic sources to generate power.
A fuel-efficient car that has two motors, an electric motor, and a gasoline-powered motor is known as Hybrid car. It has a special system, which captures braking energy to store in an onboard battery.
